AOWD CHAPTER 3.02. NIGHT DIVING

snkg guida ruolo

The SNSI System considers a night dive as a dive that takes place between sunset and sunrise. During a night dive, even if the visibility is excellent and the other conditions are considered to be perfect, the divers’ field of vision is considerably reduced. Therefore, the maximum depth during a night dive should not exceed 18 meters / 60 feet.

It is highly recommended to conduct your night dive in a location that you have previously dived during the daylight hours. This will help you orient yourself under water, which is often more challenging at night.

Also, diving in a familiar location will help reduce the pre-dive stress that is commonly and instinctively fueled by the unknown of diving at night in a new location.
